Discover the secret history of Closeburn Castle 10th February
Closeburn Castle: ancient seat of the Clan Kirkpatrick and a hidden gem steeped in dramatic history. One of the oldest continuously inhabited castles in Scotland, Closeburn was home to Roger 'Mak Siccar' Kirkpatrick, who famously killed the Red Comyn, and has links with many fascinating characters.
Dawn Flight at WWT Caerlaverock 22nd February
Greet the dawn with the spectacular flight of the barnacle geese departing the reserve as the sun comes up.
These beautiful birds have spent the night out on the Solway mudflats and fly in to feed on the fields during the day. Join the wardens out on the merse, as we open early to watch the geese flying against the dawn sky

Theatre Royal Dumfries - Haunted Theatre Tour 1st March
Dark shadowy figures, reports of poltergeist activity and the legend of a bizarre double tragedy are among the stories woven into this chilling ghost tour, starring Scotland’s oldest working theatre.
Hosted within the walls of the 232 year-old Theatre Royal, Dumfries, the brave and curious can look forward to hearing wide ranging reports of ghostly activity, entwined with episodes from the Theatre’s long, colourful past.
Spring Delights - a guided walk at Logan Botanic Garden 11th March
Embrace the spring delights of Logan Botanic Garden in the first guided walk of the season. See the stunning camellias, rhododendrons and magnolias in this exciting and informative walk. Members free. Non-members £3.

Kirkcudbright Planetarium hosts a variety of special events, lectures, workshops, and guest talks. They also have regular cinema screenings to be enjoyed in the Planetarium.
Closeburn Castle Ghost Hunt
Join Haunted Rooms at Closeburn Castle for a night of ghost hunting you'll not soon forget! This castle, dating back to the mid-13th century / early 14th century and nestled within 20 acres of the secluded Scottish countryside, is the oldest tower house in Scotland and one of the oldest continuously inhabited buildings in the country.
